About PNW Nomad Meetups: History
Since our inaugural event in 2021, we have been bringing together nomads from across the country for a week of adventure, connection, and exploration.
O’21: First Annual Event
Our first get-together was in May of ’21. Because it was her birthday week 🎂, Gracie, from the YouTube channel Gracie and Jacq’s Adventures, wanted to meet up with Gina, from the YouTube channel Vanlife With Gina.
They decided on meeting at Alsea Falls Campground.

The campground was wonderful and rustic, but there was no Wi-Fi, electricity, or dump station.

As more community members heard about the “get-together”, more people reserved a spot, and thus was born: the O’21 meetup.

O’22: Second Annual Event

In 2022, Tim from the YouTube channel Time4Xploring was tasked with finding just the right spot for our next get-together.
The wish list included WiFi availability, water for those who enjoy water activities, plenty of hiking opportunities, and hookups.
And Tim didn’t disappoint, he found the perfect campground: Joseph Stewart State Park!! We loved it and had 41 folks and 23 fur babies in attendance.

If you attended O’23 then you know how much fun we had!!! If not, well here is a recap of the week!
Several of us arrived a few days ahead of time and the majority of folks arrived on Friday and a few others on Saturday and Sunday. Folks arrived in their 5th wheels, Class C RVs, trailers, vans, cars and a cargo trailer. Several people camped in their tents and car set ups. We had a total of 46 humans, 13 dogs and 5 cats! Record breaking numbers all around (9 of us have attended all 3 Oregon meetups)! People came to our event from as far away as Canada, N. Carolina, Missouri, S. Dakota and Nebraska. Of course, several friends came up from California and then folks from Washington and Oregon also represented.
We enjoyed connecting with old friends while making new ones and the potluck social events did not disappoint!
People arranged spontaneous group outings to see Crater Lake, Mills Creek Falls and the town of Prospect and several did daily hikes around the lake area. There was much to do if one wanted adventure.
We played corn hole, and ladder ball and man, did we see some competitiveness happening, all in fun! Several people had projects that they worked on, for their rigs and really, we just had a wonderful time socializing and enjoying the beauty which surrounded us. I want to thank everyone who came. And a big thank you for your donations for the supplies we provided. Also, thank you (you know who you are) who helped with setup and cleanup including those who made the garbage run, daily!
We are already making plans for O’24 so stay tuned! I want to send out a special recognition to not only my assistant of this website but to my friend, Tim Wilson! Thanks, buddy, for everything!!! I also want to thank Troy and Christian for letting us get the firewood at such an amazing price!! To my dear friends who helped me and Jacq as I dealt with my dizzy episodes, I can’t thank you all enough. It was a blessing to spend time with you all and I hope we see you all, next year!

0’24: Fourth Annual Event
O’24 brought together around 38 people at the lovely campground, Schroeder Park, Grants Pass Oregon, which boarders the mighty, Rouge River! It was great connecting with old friends and meeting new ones! The weather was perfect as well.
Our activities included:
A Father’s Day brunch

Lunch at the Laughing Clam

A 4-hour boat excursion with Hellsgate Boat tours which included a fabulous meal at The River Lodge!

A trip to The Glass Forge Gallery and Studio, which we were given a tour and was able to create our very own ornament!

And our annual White Elephant gift exchange!
We enjoyed nightly camp fires, great conversations and so much more.

Gracie Wall

Gracie from the YouTube channel Gracie and Jacq’s Adventures is a retired nurse who sold her home in Portland, Oregon and has been a full-time nomad since July 11th, 2022. She grew up camping and took her children and Grandchildren on many camping trips while they were growing up as well.
Her travel companion Jacq is a young German Shepard Dog who loves to travel, enjoys sniffing out new scents, playing ball fetch, and is his Momma’s protector! While he loves to meet people he also knows when he should be in full GSD mode. Don’t mess with a GSD!

Since hitting the road they have been to many beautiful places, met tons of really lovely people, and continue to enjoy life as nomads.
A special thank you to Kat Kat for planting the seed!
“My wishes for us all are: safe travels, good food, good drink, wonderful friendships to be made, and counting our blessings and appreciation of the journeys we are on!” ~Gracie
